I do not myself suffer from the orange home screen but i have heard that in future, all orange phones will have the ability to turn this feature off! I dont know when this is supposed to be happening, should be soon though!

try to get a new firmware on a Nokia Service Center or similar which is unbranded and you will *loose* that annoying branded *trash*

I know a few people who have tried this and on some occasions it has'nt worked

I had been bleeting with Carphone Warehouse for a while to get my 6630 upgraded, the incompetent staff didnt have anything to offer me.

In the end I just swaped mine.

the thing at carphone warehouse is that they wont flash generic firmware onto a branded phone so you take phone to CPW for a flash / upgrade youll get the exact same branded junk as was there before, you have to either do it yourself from home, or find a different service center who is willing to update your branded phone with generic firmware.. a generic firmware flash will remove the orange stupid stuff as well as everything else on there, but if you ask the tech who will flash it, you want to retain user info, then youll need not even back up the phone b4 flash (but its advisable in case a mistake is made) as flashing only has effect on Z: drive ROM, and there is option from the nokia service software to keep user info, but you must say as this option is set to NOT retain user info as defualt
