That's exactly my frustration, Dakku. My service provider offers EGDE. My phone is EDGE compatible. But I am not getting the service because my service provider does not recognize the phone (the 6630 is not entered into their system). So I am stuck with the most basic service (ie, slow GPRS). I was hoping there was a way to alter the settings to "tell" my provider that my phone is EDGE capable. I've called a number of times, and these people don't know ANYTHING about phones. They earn minimum wage to answer phones and write down complaints. Very frustrating.

thanks for help on swapping from 3g, i read some where that this helps to cut down on the battery on the 6630. is this true?
thats the main reason i switched from 3g as my battery life is rubish, its hard to get 12 hours out of it.

if i type 1 in the execute menu ... then is going to gsm mode ...
if i press 0 its dual ? or ?
ant what should i press to go to 3G mode ?
can u please type down all the keys

Thanks Dakku for posting this guide. Now my phone always have reception, and my battery time more than doubled!

Tigerofsweden : vad menar du? det är ju hur enkelt som helst, det står ju i klartext när man kör programmet?
0 = dual (byter mellan gsm och 3g)
1 = gsm endast
2 = 3g endast

Jep, funkar jättebra för mig. Jag kör GSM only (1) nu, och tappar inte nät hela tiden, dessutom fick jag bättre batteritid.
