Comments from the designer
Nokia 888 is a mobile device designed for freedom and fun. You can change its form according to your needs. It is aimed at young consumers who engage in many different activities. The target group is very mobile and engaged in so many different things during the day. Tamer's design adapts to the moment, the place and the function.
It uses liquid batteries, speech recognition, flexible touchscreen and touch-sensitive body cover. It has a simple programmable body mechanism so that its form changes for different situations.
You don’t have to carry it in your pocket or on your wrist. You can carry it anywhere, in any form. You can roll it, bend it, attach it to your clothes like a clip. When you’re talking on the phone, the body shape changes into a good old telephone. You can personalise these shapes and bookmark them. Like an electronic pet, it senses your moves, understands what you want. Use e-motions to let other 888 users know what you feel, without words, just images.
You can send a heart to your girlfriend, to have her telephone turned into a heart. Or send a dancer’s image to your friend, for the party tonight. It is fun, but also functional. Wear it in your pocket, roll it and make it smaller, or put on your wrist when you want to make a video call. We face many situations in daily life, so just one shape doesn’t match every situation.
